SHOP/HERBAL SALTS/FALL

A collection born from edge-of-decay clarity, meandering through fall’s gardens full of functional disorientation. A time stamp when everything slows just enough for hidden colors, flavors, and truths to surface. A curated set of nine offerings — one jar of brine and eight sliders — drifting exploratively through fall’s earthy aromatics, collapsing blooms, and last-chance fruit. Threaded throughout are the whispers of cinnamon basil spent blooms — sweetness and pie-spice fall magic like no other. Every jar is speckled with the earthy and soft potencies of late-season herbs — green, purple, and white sages in pungent, smoky tints. Lavender and French thymes surrendered and softened as the season moves. Perfumed marjoram, explorative mature mints, drifting variances of many rosemary varieties. Ultra and over-ripe fruits and vegetable remnants — persimmon, pear, fig, green beans — revealing deeper, darker notes with elapsed time and disappearing light. In a disorienting twist to the usual, two offerings are not salts at all — a custom Herbal Roots pie-spice blend and a peppercorn option blanketed in the same pie-spice magic, extracted from toasted cinnamon basil spent blooms — proving the edge of decay is where fall’s flavor reveals itself. Familiar and comforting seasonal flavors create pleasure in ambiguity as you perambulate into new depths of flavor and ideas, culinary and otherwise. Gift them, collapse into them, use them recklessly, never hoard them. Each season is meant to pass or rather transform into what is not yet known.
